Dave Franco is an American film and television actor. His credits include 21 Jump Street (2012), Now You See Me (2013), Nerve (2016), and the series Scrubs. He voiced “Lloyd Garmadon” for The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) and “Edward Nigma/Riddler” for the animated series Young Justice. Franco was born on June 12, 1985, in Palo Alto, California. His mother, Betsy, is a poet/author, and his late father, Doug, was a Silicon Valley businessman. He has two older brothers, Tom and James. Franco attended Palo Alto High School followed by the University of Southern California. He studied to become a teacher but his love for acting got the best of him.

CAREER
Franco made his television debut in a 2006 episode of The CW series 7th Heaven. His breakout role was that of “Cole Aaronson”, a medical student on the ABC drama series Scrubs (2009-10). He voiced the supervillain “Edward Nigma” aka the Riddler for the animated series Young Justice (2011-12). He had recurring roles on shows like Do Not Disturb, Greek, Privileged, Other Space, and Easy. He’s also collaborated with his brother James Franco on the ‘Funny or Die’ web series.

On the big screen, Franco started out with bit roles in Superbad (2007) and Milk (2008). Other early films include The Shortcut (2009), Greenberg (2010), and Charlie St. Cloud (2010). He served as an executive producer for the short film A Fuchsia Elephant (2009). He wrote and appeared in the short Would You (2012). Franco had a supporting role in the comedy-horror film, Fright Night (2011) alongside Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin. He was cast as a high school student and drug dealer “Eric Molson” in 21 Jump Street (2012). The film was directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. The role of Eric Molson was reprised with a came in 22 Jump Street (2014).

Franco starred as the on-screen love interest of Emma Roberts’ character in the thriller Nerve (2016). He held prominent roles in Now You See Me (2013) with Jesse Eisenberg, Warm Bodies (2013) with Nicholas Hoult, and Neighbors (2014) with Seth Rogen. He supplied the voice of the green ninja “Lloyd Garmadon” in The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017). His upcoming projects include Zeroville (2017) and 6 Balloons (2017).
