Media Author Review
United States
Variety
"A bigger, faster, noisier dinosaur opus (...) ['Jurassic World'] captures only a fraction of the original film’s overflowing awe and wonderment"
United States
Rolling Stone
"[Trevor] recaptures the thrilling spirit of the Spielberg original with fresh provocation: Is bigger always better? (...) 'Jurassic World' will scare the hell out of you, and not just for the obvious reasons (...) Rating: ★★★ (out of 4)"
United Kingdom
Telegraph
"Two decades after dinosaurs ruled the Earth’s cinemas, are we still capable of putting our phones away for two hours and being honestly amazed by them (...) Rating: ★★★★ (out of 5)"
United Kingdom
The Guardian
"A terrifically enjoyable and exciting summer spectacular: savvy, funny, ridiculous in just the right way (...) Rating: ★★★★ (out of 5)"
United States
Time Out
"The park’s back open, but you won’t be awestruck like before. (...) Jurassic World has absolutely no reason for being (except for the obvious one), but at least it chomps your time painlessly (...) Rating: ★★★ (out of 5)"
United Kingdom
Screendaily
"A sequel that’s all overkill and very little genuine grandeur or awe. (...) Trevorrow fails to capture the power or wonder of these rampaging dinos."
United States
IndieWire
"An exciting, effective and largely satisfying belated sequel that should roar through the box-office and please most blockbuster enthusiasts (...) , it’s arguably one of the rare reboots (like “Mad Max: Fury Road”) that earns its right to continue"
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"It goes down quite a bit easier than the previous two sequels (...) The new film's perspective (...) while hardly radical, plainly announces its makers' sense of humor about their own project's multi-faceted mercantile motives."
United States
Entertainment Weekly
"While the new Jurassic World pales next to the awe-inspiring spectacle of the original, it’s easily the franchise’s most thrilling sequel yet"
United States
New York Daily News
"'Jurassic World' is frequently silly and self-indulgent, but it works more often than not. For better and worse, unlike previous 'Jurassic Park' sequels, this one was at least made by someone who really loves 'Jurassic Park'. (...) Rating: ★★★ (out of 5)"
United States
New York Post
"'Jurassic World' is the blockbuster we’ve been waiting for. (...) None of this is ever quite as great as it is in Spielberg’s work, but it’s reasonably close (...) Rating: ★★★ (out of 4)"
United States
The Wrap
"The lesson of the original 'Jurassic Park' was that man shouldn’t attempt to tamper with nature. The lesson of 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park', 'Jurassic Park III' and now 'Jurassic World' is that filmmakers apparently shouldn’t attempt to tamper with 'Jurassic Park'."
United States
The New York Times
"There’s more flab than muscle packed on this galumphing franchise reboot, which (...) reminds you of what a great action god Steven Spielberg is. Too bad he didn’t take the reins on this."
Australia
Urbancinefile
"Jurassic World is scary, engrossing and thought provoking. But the filmmakers have never forgotten the fun."
