Powercell is a spin-off of Volvo AB and develops, manufactures and commercializes PEM fuel cells and fuel cell systems. For road transport applications, Powercell has entered an exclusive partnership with Robert Bosch.

Powercell was listed on Nasdaq First North in 2014 and Finindus exited the company in 2020.

“When we decided to invest in the fuel cell spinout of Volvo back in 2007, hydrogen was not the hot topic it is today. The inherent automotive DNA of Powercell, a key element of our investment hypothesis, turned out to be a crucial contributor to Powercell’s success. Today Powercell has attracted major automotive, heavy duty and marine end user and powertrain suppliers in their efforts to decarbonize their applications. The strong and well aligned investor consortium was definitely a determining factor in the ultimate success of the company.”
