La Muela, Spain
La Muela is a tiny hamlet situated about 10 km north of Algodonales and 15km west of Olvera in the Cadiz province of Andalucia. It's way off the beaten track other than being close to one of Spain's prettiest 'Via Verdes' (Greenways). The 'Via Verde' is an old railway track - now a 38km tourist cycle/walking route - through mountainous terrain connecting Puerto Serrano and Olvera. This photo was taken near an old farm that can be used as a starting point for travelling part of the 'Via Verde'; in particular the section that passes by the 'Peñón de Zaframagón', an impressive 600m high limestone outcrop or crag (peñón) with sheer cliffs, which are home to one of Andalucia's most significant colonies of Griffon vultures.
There are plenty more photos of La Muela and other Spanish towns/locations if you take a look at my 'Albums' page, www.flickr.com/photos/36623892@N00/sets/ - thank you.
