Bald Eagles in tree 01-20141210
Puzzed by this morning's eagle sightings. First an immature female flew west to east, then an adult with one leg hanging flew east to west, then two appeared on a distant tree and the male attempted copulation but was rebuffed. We assumed the original female of the local pair had been lost. Some photos show a habit of hanging down one leg. We thought the male had already replaced her with a sub-adult female, but the one in the tree with the male seems not to have dark in her tail feathers and her head is poorly seen.
