Northern Mockingbird Powershot 20141221

Comparing images from my new pocket camera, the Canon Powershot SX 700 at 30X zoom (450 mm equivalent) HS against my DSLR Canon 60D with 430MM lens system.Using a hot shoe tripod mount atop my DSLR to allow fair comparison of the quality of the images. The images straight out of the camera (SOOC) are not enlarged, though I cropped the sides of the wider DSLR images without changing the vertical dimensions of the originals. Cropped and processed images are trimmed to comparable formats and only DPP professional HDR app was used to process both photos. While all of the Powershot images appeared softer, the biggest difference was in low light, such as in the heron photos, which were taken at 20 minutes after sunrise. Visit rosy-finch.blogspot.com
