Denso tape is a cold-applied tape which remains plastic over a wide temperature range. Denso tape is non-hardening and non-cracking. It is highly resistant to mineral acids, alkalis, salts and micro-organisms and highly impermeable to water, water vapour and gases.

To keep water, dirt and dust from ingress between the leaves of the road springs, they are wrapped with tape.
Denso has been the choice since before the war. Also has the effect of stiffening the springs when tightly bound.
