"Blackthorn supported us in centralizing our events work"
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

We're new to Blackthorn, but we've been using it to centralize our events logistics and outreach. We had been using a mix of project management software, Excel tracking, and Outlook messaging to do our work, then importing into Salesforce for reporting. Blackthorn has created great efficiencies by bringing all this work into one application, and writing participant data on the Salesforce contact record for ongoing tracking. What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Strengths are also weaknesses - there was more to consider than we originally expected at the outset. That said, we are expect to integrate Blackthorn into things like our finance and invoicing processes and strategy work, so our outcomes will also be more robust than we previously expected! What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

Our team was introduced to the Blackthorn team through another contractor we work with. He said, "They are unique, and their software will solve your problems." Blackthorn has lived up to that expectation. Not only does the software plug right into our processes in Salesforce, but the team at Blackthorn has also been fun and easy to work with. If you use Salesforce and scheduled events, you will want all the tools Blackthorn offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

My only dislikes are on the gritty technical side. It is possible to customize just about everything, and the wizard is great. The setup time for all our company's unique forms and events takes longer than expected. We have used SurveyMonkey previously, and the initial setup time was faster. We have a new Form builder coming soon. It's nearly done and will be released as part of our Storefront app in 2-3 months. It'll then make its way into Events later this year.

We also have a new Event Wizard coming with inline editing of the UI, it should make it easier.

What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

In less than a month, our company would organize a two-day conference in a hotel. We would need to set up an event management system to send out invitations, monitor registration status, and allow attendees to register on-site in addition to mobile check-in. All of it is in Blackthorn. Speakers, Sessions, venue and FAQs are all well displayed. With the event Wizard, creating an event is straightforward. Leveraging the existing contacts in Salesforce, adding attendees is a breeze. Nathan provided an excellent onboarding experience. We are looking to using Blackthorn for more events in the future. What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

One area where Blackthorn may make improvements is the event page's limited UI options. Another option is to further customize the existing layouts. The printing of badges using mobile apps is only possible with black and white labels. It would be great to have a custom graphics option for the badge arrangement. What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

Syncing to Campaign and Opportunities is a huge time savings for our organization. We've collapsed three separate platforms for payment collection, event registration, and email automation down to one system. The time savings in demographics reporting alone was worth the time and financial investment. We appreciated the smooth onboarding that was tailored to our organization's goals and addressed our pain points with our previous platform. We're in the early days of using Blackthorn live in production, but happy with what we're accomplishing so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Not a dislike, exactly, but I would recommend Blackthorn only for people who have Admin-level access in their Salesforce instance. The most powerful customizations and automations arise from really understanding your own Salesforce as the primary structure on which Blackthorn's tools exist.
