"Intuitive and Flexible, with a Learning Curve Worth Overcoming"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

I think I liked that Captivate IQ is so easy to use and flexibility, particularly the intuitive, spreadsheet-like SmartGrid engine that allows the team to model and manage complex commission plans without needing code or consultants. This increased transparency and automation significantly reduces manual errors and provides me being the sales person with real-time visibility with my earnings and performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

It takes a bit of time to get comfortable with the platform, I needed a training session just to understand the reporting, configuration and also the slow load times, but it is worth it at the end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CIQ Performance"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

#.The direct Data Connectors like Salesforce/Snowflake are very helpful.

#. The newly introduced Transformaton Workbooks are really helpful for performing the transformations, initially we used do these things in Data workbook sections.

#. The Option of Payroll Group in Payout Section saves a lot of time by selecting all the reps in a single click, though we have filters options in this sections.

#. Also, I like the feature of Exports where we can have the template of required plan and saved in that section, and we can pull the data easily by just selecting the payout date of respective month.

#. Publish workflow section is something which I am using the most and it really helps to send the statements in single go connecting to the required hierarchy. This saves a lot of time when sending the payouts the leaders/managers for review.

#. Smart Hierarchy option is just awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

The are couple things which I believe can be Improved in CIQ.

#. Filter Option in the Employee Assumptions (this would help put the filter on particular rep in more than 2000 reps).

#. If we mistakenly process the payouts for the month, we don't have the option to cancel it in the bulk. However, we need do cancel the payouts individually for single reps again and again.

#. In the Statement Design section, we can't link the data from Data workbooks sections, only Employee assumptions and Payout summary section data can be linked.

#. In the Inquiry section, we need to more types like in progress/Need a Approval etc.

#. We can't pull the data from payout section until and unless we process the plans. there should be someways where we can pull this data without reprocessing the plan.

#. We can't edit the Filter applied; we need to close it and put it again for new filter on the same column

#. Going to the Inquiry section directly from the payout section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Interface and Easy Access to Commission Info with CaptivateIQ"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

CaptivateIQ is very user friendly and has pretty nice UI. I am able to easily access historical information as related to my commission and take a look at upcoming commission payouts with ease. I also like that logging in via SSO is very easy so I don't need to worry about a lengthy process to get into my account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

Overall, I've had a positive experience with the tool and cannot think of anything specific that I do not like. If I had to be nitpicky, I would like to see maybe a mobile app for something on the go if there isn't one that already exists. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"End User Experience is Simplified"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

At my company, my primary use of CaptivateIQ is accessing the dashboards for our recognition system. I appreciate being able to set that page as my default when I open the website, which makes things more convenient. I also find the summary pages helpful, as they allow me to quickly view totals without having to sift through detailed pages. When we first launched CaptivateIQ, I found it very straightforward to learn how to navigate the application. I use CaptivateIQ every day so I need a system that is quick and easy to read. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

When using the dashboards, I wish there were an option to save my filter settings as a default, so I wouldn't have to reapply them each time. At times, exporting the data to Excel feels more convenient than using the search feature. However, this might be due to the way our system is configured, as I am an end-user. "Revenue Compensation Team Lead"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

What I like most about CaptivateIQ is how easy it makes a traditionally messy and time-consuming process. Building and managing complex commission plans feels more intuitive, almost like working in a spreadsheet but with far more structure and reliability. I can set up logic, customize calculations, and push changes without relying heavily on engineers, which gives me a lot more control and flexibility.

It’s also great from a transparency standpoint. Reps can log in anytime and clearly see how their commissions are calculated, which helps build trust and cuts down on questions or disputes. The tool is fast, easy to navigate, and backed by solid support, making it feel like a real partner in managing incentive comp, not just another piece of software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

While CaptivateIQ is a strong platform overall, I’d love to see more robust visualization options within the statement design. The current setup is functional, but adding more ways to visually represent performance, like charts, graphs, or goal tracking progress bars, would make statements more engaging and easier for reps to understand at a glance. Enhancing this area would improve transparency and help reinforce motivation by making comp data more intuitive and actionable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Happily a renewing customer for a few years now!"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

I really appreciate the UI of this tool. It not only accommodates complex formulas (if you know how to write Excel formulas, you'll have an easy time coming up to speed on CIQ formulas), but it also makes it very easy to backtrack and find where a formula is not accounting for a specific kind of transaction. I am the sole administrator of variable comp for our company (monthly, quarterly, and annual frequencies) and the nature of how this tool works allows me to efficiently clone plans and create new plans, and/or clone plan years. I've always received very prompt responses when I have questions for support, and they always make sure my questions are fully resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

The only area for improvement is the ease of reporting, although I say that while seeing firsthand that they've been focusing on making the reporting easier. I certainly appreciate the Quick Reports and Global Attributes! They have made my reporting easier, although for new customers this will still be a learning curve. "Flexible, Intuitive, and Effective"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

CaptivateIQ has been a game-changer for our commission management. One of the things I appreciate most is how customizable the platform is. It makes implementing our commission plans straightforward and efficient. The flexibility to adjust existing plans or add new ones as our business evolves is a major benefit, but making it easy is a significant bonus.

The user interface is intuitive, and it has helped us streamline many of our internal processes, saving both time and effort. The CaptivateIQ team is knowledgeable and supportive. They were incredibly helpful during the design and implementation phase, guiding us through every step to ensure a smooth rollout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

Processing can be a bit slow at times, and filters take a while to update—likely due to the large data volume. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"In one sentence - Captivate is the most optimal solution between flexibility and efficiency."
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

The ease of implementing most complicated scenarios without the need of external consultants or IT support and how it's up to date with latest trends. It's very easy to use by commissions experts who know their job best and don't need to be efficient in IT. The speed of customer support replies and how easily it connects with most common external systems (it goes as far as API calls with amazing documentation). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

"With great power comes great responsibility", it's not so much an issue with the software but more a warning for organisations who would like to use it. Just because you can do anything you want doesn't mean you should. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent comp tool"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

CaptivateIQ has exceeded my expectations. I have been working with different comp tools during the last 8 years and CIQ is by far the most user friendly and flexible one. Apart from offering transparency to the sales reps, it is also very easy to use from an admin perspective. It has smart features, such as the What-if calculator (that allows the reps to see the potential earnings for future deals), an embedded ticketing system (the Inquiry feature), great customization of commission statements, reports, dashboards, and even allows for the automatic identification of the deals generating true-up balances. What I like the most is that the Support team is really responsive and helpful as compared to other tools on the market (some even more reputable, see Xactly). Also, I appreciate the fact that the CIQ team always strives to improve their product and releases new features that improve the tool. I am totally content with my decision to use CIQ, because once you set it up correctly, it is very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

I cannot say that there's something I dislike about the tool. If you are not familiar with the tool then you may find its customized formulas odd, or maybe some features may seem difficult to use (such as Advanced Reporting), but with some training everything makes sense. "Game-Changer for Commission Management"
What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?

CaptivateIQ has completely transformed how we manage sales commissions. The platform is intuitive, flexible, and eliminates the manual effort and errors that come with spreadsheets. I especially appreciate the customizable logic, robust reporting features, and how easy it is to audit and trace calculations. Their customer support is responsive and knowledgeable, and the implementation process was smoother than expected. With CaptivateIQ, we’ve gained both visibility and confidence in our incentive programs—making payout cycles faster and more transparent for everyone involved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?

The reporting capabilities are powerful, but building reports can feel a bit bulky and unintuitive at first. It takes some upfront effort to configure everything the way you want. That said, once the reports are set up, they’re easy to use, reliable, and provide the clarity we need for ongoing analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
