"Best system for election"

What do you like best about ElectionBuddy?

Very easy to set up the election. The software is very intuitive and made things much simpler on my end. It is great that I had many different options regarding starting time, ending time and other configurations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ElectionBuddy?

The only downside for my specific election was that I could not find a way to prevent the candidates from seeing the results before it was officially announced. I am pretty sure I may have missed this configuration option, but it was not something very intuitive for me. I wanted the results to be confidential until a meeting with all the parties. What problems is ElectionBuddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am the secretary of my organization, and I needed a system to elect a second secretary that would work directly with me. We had three candidates and a group of around 90 people to vote.

I was required to have software that I could set up beforehand and send the link to the member of my organization to speed up the process. It was beneficial for our process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ElectionBuddy has multiple settings for when voters are able to view the results and this setting can be changed; for example, you might like to have 'no access allowed' as your initial setting, and then update this setting to 'only after voting ends' once you have announced the results at your meeting.

"A nearly fool-proof way to run an electronic election!"

What do you like best about ElectionBuddy?

While the learning curve can be a bit steep (it took me a bit to figure everything out), once you understand the system, it is a fantastic way to hold an election at a reasonable cost. We host an election each year for our nonprofit board of directors, and this has been the perfect platform for that purpose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ElectionBuddy?

It can take a minute to understand exactly how to set up an election and add voters. But the help pages were actually helpful and now that I know what I'm doing, it's an easy platform to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ElectionBuddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

We used to use a survey platform to run our elections, but that made it almost impossible to keep people from voting more than once. Election buddy helps us track exactly who is opening the emails and who is actually voting in a secure way for both our organization and those voting. What do you like best about ElectionBuddy?

The design phase is integrated with the execution phases, which is excellent! The steps make it more clear what is designed in each stage. Going back to a previous step and changing things are beneficial! Some changes can be made even after the voting is scheduled or started. The platform is clear about possible ones and which ones aren't possible, which is excellent! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ElectionBuddy?

Some actions in some steps are rather tedious. I discovered I had to click many things to complete one small step. I am not sure if reducing it is good because there may need to be a compromise, but it felt like it is possible to reduce the number of clicks with some thought without changing the functionality. Also, 15min seemed to be the smallest granularity for scheduling. If we wanted to start the voting during a meeting, we would have to wait for 15 minutes in the worst case! Many times that is too long a wait. We got around that by planning it as much as possible before the meeting, over email or messaging, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We appreciate you mentioning the number of clicks for certain functions and will absolutely bring this to the attention of our product team. Thank you for mentioning the vote timing in 15-minute increments - you can choose a time that is not on the quarter-hour, although it may appear you cannot. We also offer the ability to manually start a vote so your meeting doesn't get delayed waiting for the vote to start. What do you like best about ElectionBuddy?

ElectionBuddy works one step at a time in an orderly fashion to create an online election that can move back to previous actions for edits and corrections. ElectionBuddy allows you to test the online ballot to confirm it will perform as desired. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ElectionBuddy?

The financial costs for each online vote are a little unclear since it is tiered based on the number of voters and dependent on the security levels of the ballot. What do you like best about ElectionBuddy?

The system sends programmed reminders to those who haven't completed the survey. I like being able to choose when the reminder is sent. I like that it only goes to those who haven't compelted the survey. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For me, it takes a bit to figure out what to do and how to do it. I can always figure it out on my own. No need to ask anyone. It does require playing with it a bit. I feel like it's designed for someone who uses it more often than me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ElectionBuddy?

That it was fairly easy to navigate while hosting your first online election. The auto postcards that were mailed directly to my voters, was also a great impactful reminder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

That you can only have just a couple staff to log in for one account. I have to hire election judges that also need access to the election results to tally and make the election official. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
