Welcome to Longarming by Katie Mae Quilts! (Well, mostly by Patricia, my Gammill Statler computerized longarm. I just supervise her.)

To place an order online, please fill out the intake form here. You will then receive an email with my address and detailed turn-around time. (Current TAT is two weeks.)

Local

I am located in Trussville, Alabama. I attend the Birmingham Quilter’s Guild meetings on the second Monday of the month in Homewood, if you wish to bring quilting to the meetings. You can also mail your quilts from anywhere!

Batting

96” Roll Batting - Quilters Dream 100% Cotton - $8 a yard - quilt size + 6”

Baby Size - Quilters Dream 100% Cotton - $10 - 46x60”, for quilts 40x54” or smaller

King Size - Quilters Dream 100% Cotton - $35 - 120x122”, for any quilt larger than 87”

Queen Size - Quilters Dream Wool - $50 - 108x93”, for any quilt 102x87”

Queen Size - Quilters Dream Bamboo - $45 - 108x93”, for any quilt 102x87”

Prepping your quilt

Please mark any directional quilts and/or backing with a pinned note at the top.

Due to its bulkiness, it’s usually more economical to use my batting instead of shipping your own. I can also order other types of batting from Quilters Dream and have it shipped to me for you!

It is best to use a waterproof bag when shipping your top. Insure the package for the full amount of fabric (not the default $50!), and use a shipping service with tracking. Please email me the tracking number so I know to watch for your package!
