If there’s one thing I love, it’s a gorgeous sunrise or sunset. The start of a brand new day or the end of a day (hopefully) well spent  noted by a beautiful array of color and light. What a joy. There’s always lots of feelings when you witness such sight. Which is why I have all the feels for Barbara’s documenting of all her thoughts about her daughter leaving for school using such a beautiful photo with the Layers stamp set.

This Layers stamp set felt like it needed something soft and sentimental so I made something that captured that kind of moment. Dropping your child off to college away from you is one of the hardest things one can do. And man was this past weekend a hard one. The picture on the right is from her move in day and the sunset on the left side was a few days after we got home. We loved watching the sunsets together and it felt like the perfect photo to use to compliment the layout.

I started with one of the grids and I knew for sure that I wanted to use the script text stamp. After that I just started playing around with overlapping and fitting in as many of the little bits as I could. I decided to stamp everything on a piece of watercolor paper that I tore and stamping on it worked beautifully, and it gave the stamping even more texture which I love. A few simple embellishments was all this needed to wrap it all up and of course some journaling to help process the abundance of feelings right now.
