Kiln becomes a verified operator for the launch of ssv.network's limited mainnet
We are thrilled to announce that Kiln has been appointed as a verified operator of ssv.network’s limited mainnet launch to help keep the Ethereum validators' infrastructure reliable and secure. The mission of ssv.network is to implement DVT and further decentralize Ethereum staking.
How does Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) work?
The ssv.network protocol enables partners to operate Ethereum validators in a distributed manner through DVT. By encrypting and splitting validators' validations keys into keyshares and distributing them via ssv.network nodes, there is no need to trust a single operator to perform validators' operations. If a keyshare is unavailable during validating operations due to a node operator fault, the rest of the keyshares will answer. This allows for smooth operation and no interruption of the work by removing single points of failure.
Using ssv.network DVT, it is possible for some nodes to be offline without impacting the network’s performance or triggering penalties for the validator.
At Kiln we are proud to support and be involved in such initiatives benefiting the whole space by adding more diversity and reducing complexities for users to the infrastructure layer that power thousands of Decentralized Applications.
What made Kiln decide to join this project?
Kiln chose to be part of this project for various reasons. As a trailblazer in Ethereum staking Kiln's growth has been remarkable. We are now proud to operate 3% of the validation power, with over 20,000 validators, and $1 billion in staked ETH assets. Our track record showcases robust monitoring and anti-slashing strategies, making operational excellence our top priority.
Having thoroughly assessed Kiln's uptime and the robustness of our infrastructure and software, the ssv.network team extended an invitation for us to join the select first cohort for their limited mainnet launch.
Moreover, Kiln's vision of creating a staking aggregator platform aligns perfectly with the mission of the ssv.network. While Kiln allows customers to seamlessly onboard any node operator within an existing staking product, ssv.network introduces an additional layer of decentralization by distributing validation keys among these operators. Together, we are poised to drive decentralization and enhance the staking ecosystem.
‘More than 2 years ago, I presented the ssv.network to an audience of builders at the Kiln office in Paris. Welcoming Kiln to our limited mainnet launch today is the outcome of years of collaborative work and a very significant milestone. We are proud to share the same vision of making the Ethereum network more robust and decentralized through innovation’ — Alon Muroch, ssv.network's core team Dev Lead
‘Being part of the ssv.network project from the very beginning and seeing the mainnet go live today is truly incredible. We are thrilled to join the ssv.network limited launch and look forward to the future of the protocol to make the whole network more robust and resilient’ — Laszlo Szabo - CEO and co-founder at Kiln
About ssv.network
The ssv.network is a fully decentralized, open-source, and trustless DVT network that provides a reusable infrastructure solution for decentralizing Ethereum validators.
The protocol supports Ethereum’s validation layer by distributing validator operations to the network’s multiple non-trusting nodes (a.k.a Operators). Clusters of operator nodes operate validators on behalf of the staker, and simultaneously help solve the fundamental issues of centralization, redundancy, and security that exist within Ethereum’s PoS consensus. About Kiln
Kiln is the leading enterprise-grade staking platform, enabling institutional customers to stake assets, and to whitelabel staking functionality into their offering. Kiln runs validators on all major PoS blockchains, with over $2.2b of stake under management and over 3% of the Ethereum network, running on a multi-cloud, multi-region infrastructure. Kiln also provides a validator-agnostic suite of products for fully automated deployment of validators, reporting and commission management, enabling custodians, wallets and exchanges to streamline staking operations across providers. Kiln is also SOC2 Type 2 certified.
