Richard's Obituary

U.S. Veteran

Richard C. Hult, born on June 16, 1939, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 11, 2023. As he did with all experiences in life, Rich managed his brief battle with cancer with strength and dignity, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren, whom he adored more than anything else in the world.  Rich, the youngest of two children, was born in Chicago, Illinois to his parents, Franklin and LaVerne Hult. He graduated from Lane Tech High School and then married his beloved wife, Laurel Quaver. After completing his apprenticeship in pipefitting, Rich proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.  Rich continued his career working in the pipefitting industry for the rest of his life.

Rich and Laurel moved to Roselle, Illinois in 1966, and soon became the proud parents of four beautiful daughters: Heidi, Heather, Holly and Hope. Rich enjoyed traveling throughout the country with his family for camping and fishing trips and beachside vacations. He was a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears and enjoyed going to sporting events. He loved reading, going to the movies, eating at Portillos and serving at his church.

More than anything, Rich will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was never happier than when his family gathered together for birthdays and holidays. Along with his love for his family, Rich will always be known for his sense of humor. Throughout his life, he had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Rich is survived by his wife, Laurel Hult; his daughters, Heidi (Michael) Herbert, Heather (Bryan) Williams and Holly (Patrick) Gilliam, his son in law Blake Williams; and his grandchildren: Ian Gilliam, Aubry (Sam) Brekke, Cooper (Maddy) Williams, Jack Williams, Emma Gilliam, Eli Williams, Reagan Herbert, Hadley Williams, Olivia Herbert, Hudson Williams, Finley Williams, and Everley Williams. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Hope, and his sister Bonnie (Robert) Andersen.

A memorial service will be held at Mission Church, 82 Stratford Drive in Bloomingdale, IL 60108, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 3:00  p.m. with a reception to follow. Burial will be private at Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
