Was producer-director G.P. Sippy's original choice for the iconic role of dacoit Gabbar Singh in SHOLAY(1975), but turned it down to play a positive role in Feroz Khan's DHARMATMA. However, he stated he has no regrets since he believes nobody could've played the legendary villain better than Amjad Khan.
