Delinquent

This was a really entertaining movie. Definitely worth the watch. Great acting.

This is the type of film that I hope will find success with a wider audience in the years to come. Delinquent is an incredible dialogue driven film from first time writer/director Kieran Valla and wow does he knock it out of the park. The script and story is strong, though it does falter slightly in the second act. The entire cast gives A+ performances, especially Alex Shaffer in the lead role as well as Bill Sage as his father. The cinematography is truly haunting, and while I may be biased as I grew up in northern-Connecticut where the film is based, I felt completely as if I was there. The final shot of the film has stuck with me sense seeing the film for the first time. Delinquent is a hidden gem and I'd strongly suggest checking it out.

This is a small tale of a criminal based family who finally go too far during a robbery. The actors are really good and it's shot well. The story itself is simple but clear and watching this makes me want to see the cast in a bigger picture because they sold this story.

This story, while done countless times before, can still provide a very intriguing movie. This one started strong, but ultimately fell into all the cliches and stupid moves that causes most movies in the thriller/drama genre to fail. There's not one character here that a viewer can emphasize with. By the midway point in this it's obvious that the writers had no idea how to progress the plot in any unique manner. The dialogie and action sequences were eye rollingly ridiculous and the viewer eventually wants all of them caught and hung just so they won't say or do any more asinine things. Dull, unimaginative and predictable drivel. Skip it. There's much more competent and enjoyable offerings out there in this vein.

Exceptionally well-made drama-thriller about a family of robbers and a robbery gone very wrong, and effectively portrays how the lives of innocent people are thrown into turmoil due to wrongdoers. Although I did find the film a bit slow moving, it was never boring thanks to a fantastic script.
