Die Lebensretter von London

Great potential for a documentary but let's itself down by a cringe worthy PR campaign for the the ambulance service. They do a excellent job but the fake conversations of concern after each casualty just spoils the program.

I worked in health care for around 30 years and find the program very interesting. It's great to see the advances made in treating people at the scenes often when it's critical to do so and therefore saving even more lives. Although it's very sad to see the extent of the of the mental health problem in the U. K. and it's clear that care in the community did not work and does not work for a large sector of those needing mental health services. A lot of the Ambulance call outs are to what could be described more as for social health reasons rather then acute medical purposes.

The staff are brilliant and dedicated to their roles. There is much kindness on show as well as technical skills. Kindness and empathy can go a long way in aiding tricky situations and to me is as important. The staff all have public service and duty at heart they often go way over what the job description is and it's beautiful to see that. A recent episode had them collecting clothes and toys and food for displaced vulnerable people. It made me cry I must admit. Also I thought about the difference between the public duty, service and honesty on display and that of our current leaders in government who don't give two hoots for public service and lie as they breath. They are also rewarded in financial terms far and above what the Ambulance staff receive. Healthcare staff are regulated via the various regulatory services and if they showed as much dishonest behaviour as many politicians they would be struck off pretty soon. It's sad that the political classes aren't held to such high standards and regulation considering what a powerful position they hold in society.

I love this show. These people in the call centre are angels and the paramedics are amazing. I especially love the twins in series 2. I also have an ulterior motive as my son works for the London Ambulance Service and is one of these beautiful caring people. It gives me a chance to see what his day to day work life is like from the other side of the world.

This tv show is a masterpiece - not just because of the filming, editing, etc but because of the connection yoi feel to all the characters - paramedics and patients. It's an insight on our society and the people we live with. There is no other program which makes me as emotional as this one. It's often overwhelming to see what's happening around us everyday. Every episode gives me multiple moments of tears. The people who try to save us everyday are the real heroes who deserve much more appreciation than we give them. Seeing this program gives me hope that there is still a lot good left in this world. Thank you BBC.

I love this show. It's so well made and highlights the amazing work of the ambulance crews and the emergencies every day people are going through. The Geordie series is the best yet. Really shows the whit and kindness of Geordies in general.

It's clearly such a hard job for the crews. I don't know how they get through each day. Makes me appreciate them all the more after watching this.

Heart wrenching stuff. I'd highly recommend this as a must watch.

Well done to the BBC. It just gets better and better. Hope it continues for more series. Can't wait for the next episode.
