There are so many wonderful references in this, Lovecraft, Poe and King. no disrespect to the animator, great job of building tension, but couldn't this benefit from a Love, Death + Robots approach whereby a different animator tackles each topic. Very good, a must for Tales of the Crypt and Twilight Zone fans with its cautionary tales.
Interesting anthology that has a lot of passion and creativity put behind it although you can tell it is in early stages of working out kinks and different problems for example how when some scenes involve dialogue but suddenly turn to subtitles which was jarring although this becomes less and less used throughout the show as it goes along. I quite like the atmosphere and story, reminds me of a combination of Welcome to Night Vale and something like Gravity Falls which I enjoy. The show isn't perfect and there aren't many episodes but it's a interesting horror show with cool but basic animation that I'm looking forward to see develop over time. Check it out, it's worth your time, it isn't that long either.
I have not yet finished the series, but as far as goes..it goes. I like the very fact that you can listen to it as if it's a podcast, but, of course, visuals are additional sensors and are recommended.
It is very unique, slow paced. Kind of loose ends all over. But it is very atmospheric. Amazing for rainy day, or night, or any night, really.
Enjoy it, don't rush it.
The Kirlian Frequency is an atmospheric detour into bizarre mini-episodes, centred around a collected and disquieting radio host and the goings on in the lurid nightscape of Kirlian.
Each episode makes effective use of its short time, transfixing you with its beautifully realised art animation - a palette of reds, blacks and purples - and its retro score. The aesthetic is pleasing and the narrative content intriguing, and while each episode comes to a close too soon to make complete sense of what you're witnessing, it's never less than hypnotic and bolstered by suggestion.
A great little series with visual appeal and potential for expansion within its dark setting, narrated to perfection by the mysterious protagonist who is unperturbed with Kirlian's occurrences of contemporary vandalism and otherworldly undercurrents. The narration feels influenced by The Twilight Zone as he bookends each chapter with insight and mysteriousness. Dark forces are at work in Kirlian, and it's a brief experience that mostly succeeds, deserving your full attention.

I love this show but it's so incredibly similar to Welcome to Night Vale (the podcast) that I suspect it escaped from the alternate universe where it was their "Welcome to Night Vale."
