The Catcher

I was actually in The Catcher as an extra for the location shots in Memphis. Great fun and great bunch of people including Tony F. We spent three days shooting in Beal Street before the area was revitalized. Tony and Katherine Burns would hang out with the cast and crew. Tony would play his harmonica which he was just learning to play. Caterers would furnish barbecue in the alley behind the set each day. Non-speaking cast received $45 per day. I would like to own a copy of this movie if possible. Does anyone know how I might get a copy? I will pay for a copy if necessary. I know it was on TV at least once because I saw it. Not a bad pilot.

Although The Catcher (Possibly Actually Called The CatcherS) isn't of the best plot, writing, or filming quality, it does keep one interested throughout. I payed over 300 bucks altogether to get this thing and then have it transfered to DVD. I wanted it only for the footage of Piano Red performing, for there is no other film of the man in existence.

Unfortunately, most of the first reel was destroyed in a minor accident, but I do have the last hour or so of the movie on DVD. If you can ever get this movie at a decent price, I recommend it.

If you're a Piano Red enthusiast, I HIGHLY recommend it.
