Der Typ mit dem irren Blick

Zapped has only two redeeming values...the fact that it showcases the talents of the late, great Scatman Crothers (NOT a pinnacle of his career) and more importantly...the big screen debut of the lovely Miss Heather Thomas. Other than that, this movie is best watched after many, many beers...even then it may not be watchable. The story is a soft-core porno meets an ABC after-school special...lotsa boobs, extremely bad story-line, a "Star Trek" sequence that must be seen to be believed (or disbelieved!)...But somehow the 10 minutes that Heather Thomas graces the screen makes it all seem worthwhile...Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Skip the lame sequel at all costs! (Even Linda Blair doesn't save it!)

As Scott Baio's father asks him: "Son, are you on dope?" - - you'd have to be to enjoy this one!

It's your basic 80's teen comedy. How can you identify this unique sub-genre? Look for a movie with a good brunette and an evil/bad girl blonde.

Scatman Crothers was probably embarrassed to list this on his resume, but Christopher Aames is actually kinda funny in a few spots: he does a decent Groucho impersonation near the end.

Baio and Schacter have some decent chemistry, and for some odd reason I really like the music. Other then that, it's pretty much a guilty pleasure.

Though this is watchable, it does get a little played after awhile. For some reason, this movie isn't as good as one thinks it could be, when you first hear what its about. I think zapped could have been a little more creatvie in how the powers were actually put to use, to many girls being disrobed etc etc, it's fun at first-but there's nothing done thats spectacular or strongly memorable. It is just a nice little movie about a boy who develops special powers. The movie could have had more of a field day with creative innovative ways to use those powers! But nothing special happens at all.

This movie isn't especially terrible but cannot come close to some of the more well done 80's movies, not enough creativity went into developing an entertaining idea. The movie becomes a bit to formulatic and "been there,done that". I'd give this just a 5 out of 10. Not bad, but not particularly good either.

i have not seen an unedited version, but i have to say, this movie ROKS!!!!!!!!!

after i saw the Scott Baio celebrity profile, i fell in love. i looked up Scotty's movie history, and saw this one.

coincidentally it was on Comedy Central about 2 weeks later. even though they always play it at 7 o'clock in the morning. and it is rated TV PG. which means everything good was cut out, ZAPPED is one of my favorites.

i like the line where Barney (Baio) goes: "Are you talkin' to me? are you talkin' to me? well i dont see anyone else here, so you must be talkin' to me" and then Peyton (Aames) says: "then where am i Barn?" i mean sure it is campy, but it got me laughing.

Barney Springboro is really hott and even if Bernadette does fall in love with him, i still watch it every time. i think that ZAPPED is not highly appreciated, because what good teen movies are?? this movie was before the BRAT PACK.

i say that if you hate it, fine. if you have never seen it, watch it! you will be surprised!

Hey, it's a 1980s video-type movie. It's a one-gag picture with some amusing moments, some dumb moments, and a titillating finale. Don't pay more than a buck to rent it. Scott Baio is... well, Scott Baio. Enough said.
