How can i describe with one word? ''Cold''

I watched this movie in Istanbul Film Festival and i havent ever watched any picture from the same director.As i mentioned before i can describe this movie not adjectives like these: excellent,cool,realist. It's just so cold and tougher than reality. Well,i can hardly remember name of the boy who is going on from childhood to adulthood. I guess it was Serephna. His fantasy world between the sea and birds battles against the reality of the evilised people like '' bad father, bitch nanny, punisher major, snob girlfriend''. Thats the pessimistic vision is being tried to impose by director. Did he succeed? I dont think so. Especially some of the scenes from this movie reminds me some Iceland productions. Director couldnt make a 5 or 4 star movie or any kind of Cult production. But i bet you wont get bored when you are watching. This movie is hard and comfortable, but if you have more options ... skip it!
