Tempo de Resistência

On 01 April 1964, the elected President João Goulart was overthrown by the Armed Forces and General Humberto de Alencar Castello Branco was pointed out as President of Brazil, in the beginning of a dark period without civil rights for the citizens and torture and exile to the of the opponents to the military dictators and torturers.

"Tempo de Resistência" is an excellent documentary with highlights of this darkest period of the Brazilian history, and uses footages and interviews to discloses to the youngest generations and recall the older generations this romantic time of the political life, when people were capable to sacrifice their own lives to make a better country. Director Andre Ristum uses a great work of research and interviews with Takao Amano, Dom Angélico Bernardino, Vanderlei Caixe, Denize Crispim, José Adolfo de Granville, José Dirceu, Teresa Jemma, Franklin Martins, Leopoldo Paulino and Terezinha Zerbini, some of them very emotional and touching.

Unfortunately in our presently present democracy, most of our politicians and people like the interviewed José Dirceu have forgotten these moments and presently dedicate their mandates and political space in self-interest, political or economic. My vote is eight.
