Par l'odeur alléché...

Discovering this movie was a real good surprise for me. Even if I am still looking for someone known in the cast ( except Eric Anderson that may be a french action movie director...), I really enjoyed the actors' performance and the plot that tends to show that you can't escape your own nature. The clever script follow 4 young people through their romantic desires and sexual expectations. The director is very closed to these main characters that makes them appear so real and touching. Is it possible for the male audience not to feel involved in Tristan's behavior?

Par l'odeur alleche is a quite good movie that deals great with human relationship and that is well balanced with comedy and emotional climax, especially in the end. The excellent dialogue reminds us some of the Woody Allen greatest features (Annie Hall) in their funny way to express sexuality, love and the (mis)understandings with the opposite sex. Among my favorite scenes, is the discontinuous sequence of the guy that always makes funny (but scary) homosexual erotic dreams before (at last)finding out that he's attracted by males in a dream in which he is invisible. Great actor, hilarious sequence, good special effects...

Finally I'd say that Jean Mach shows a real talent as a scriptwriter and movie maker. Between laughs and tears, the movie is never boring thanks to a perfect global rhythm that proves Jean Mach(Tiernan)'s ability. Furthermore, every role (even the smallest) is well played that makes me think that the director for his first movie succeeded in choosing his team and especially the cast director. What else can I say? I loved that movie...
