Dr Demented sees Ordinary People...
And in his mind, he changes them into images one might see in a slick magazine. One that we find out later is taped to the underside of a toilet tank.
This is not only happening in his brain, it is happening at a nightclub where an entrepreneur is hosting a Rave, where there are hundreds of people dancing to techno music and carousing and dressing up like Darryl Hannah the way that she was in Blade Runner, when she put that black stuff over her eyes. And she was wearing a kind of wedding dress thing. That's just something that I noticed right now when I was watching this again, Dr. Demented targets a couple and the couple were speaking with the girl who was wearing the Darryl Hannah outfit, and she had that black makeup sprayed over her eyes, just like Blade Runner.
But when the perverse, demented, twisted, kind of normal looking predator guy sees the couple and the third girl, they look different in his brain. And then something scares the Ersatz Darryl Hannah girl, and she runs away fast...
I think that's an important aspect of this episode, because they are showing scenes in the nightclub and the people that are being targeted are very normal, ordinary looking people, but when you see the same people through Dr Demented's "dementia vision", they look completely different. They are wearing sexy clothes that are nothing like what they were actually wearing, and their facial features change completely.
This episode also has a "couple" that had been in X-Files, the late great William Lucking, who was in "Jose Chung's from Outer space", and "Eve 8" Harriet Sansom Harris from of course "Eve". And there is a kind of thing happening between them, mirroring what is going on in the mind of the dementia pharmacist, who is the perp of this episode, Hrothgar Mathews... who is also handing out ecstasy like M&Ms.
The next day a swingin party is targeted, and through Hrothgar's Gary Gilmore type eyes, two very old and tired looking housewives are transformed into a couple of Stormy Daniels... in Hrothgar's brain.
These kinds of incidents keep happening, and we always see how it starts. During the final incident, two teenage kids go into a pharmacy to obtain preventative medication for when they go to a foreign country. But a lot more happens than they bargain for when they are invited to act out the parts of Mr. And Mrs. Demeanor when their meds are switched! Because the reason why all of this is happening is something so ordinary (for most people) that it becomes this obsessed persons 18 year old Quest. And in his mind, he was just trying to get the perfect memory, permanently memorialized.
You can't really fault the guy for wanting this, but the way that he is going about it is very icky, and disgusting.

Sexual Fantasies
In Boulder, Colorado, a man offers ecstasy to a young couple at a nightclub. Then, they go to an isolated place where the couple has sex, and the man refuses to make a threesome. Later, he injects a drug into them, and they are found dead and naked in the other morning in the Eden Garden in the Botanic Garden, posing like Adam and Eve. Frank Black and his colleague Maureen Murphy travel to Boulder to help the misogynist Detective Thomas in the investigation. Meanwhile, the killer is peeping into a swingers' party and when two women leave the house to buy booze in a nearby liquor store, he stops their car posing as a police officer. On the next day, their husbands report that they are missing to the police but soon their bodies are found in a park. Frank sends blood samples to the Millennium Group and Peter Watts finds that the man is possibly a pharmacist. Frank believes that the man has access to drugs and is killing people to fulfill his sexual fantasies. Meanwhile, a young couple that is going to get married on the next day goes to the Art Nesbitt's pharmacy to buy a medication to travel in honeymoon, and Nesbitt drugs them. Will the police and the Millennium team find them on time to save their lives?
"Loin Like a Hunting Flame" is a reasonable episode of "Millennium", with the story of a man that has not consummated his marriage after eighteen years of marriage with his wife. He uses young couples to satisfy his sexual fantasies, killing them after. The sick plot creates no tension, and the story is neither mysterious nor entertaining, but dramatic. The viewer will certainly feel sorry for Karen Nesbitt, a woman totally dependable of her husband. My vote is seven.

Unconsummated
I love this episode! I think I knew I would as soon as I read the bizarre sexual title.
Some people might accuse this episode of being exploitation schlock or tacky - but that's exactly what I love about it. I feel like this is the first Millennium episode I could actually describe as being FUN! Who would have thought it possible?
We get to visit Pumping night Clubs & swingers parties. A "garden of eden" mock up. An underground bomb shelter staged for filming bizarre videos.
I love the performances!
The actress who plays Maureen I remember from the X Files episode Eve. I love how commanding she is as soon as she comes on screen. I hope she gets more appearances in the show.
The guy who plays the fat misogynistic detective is so comical. He has a perfect tone and plays a great antagonist even if some of his sexist lines are very on the nose.
The villain who plays the creepy pharmacist is great - he's believable as the deviant seeking to fulfil his unfulfilled dreams by getting others to act out scenarios for him. He has a very interesting and unique psychology that's awesome to see play out.
The villains wife might be the worst actress in the episode - but somehow it works as she is playing a very awkward and stiff and shy, socially inept woman.
I just had a lot of fun with this episode. I feel like it's one you can watch and enjoy without having to think too deeply. But I'm sure it also has many layers for those interested in delving deeper.
