A little bit cheesy, but also oddly charming

This short cartoon reminds me of those of Don Hertzfeldt, as the simple style is an awful lot like his cartoons. However, while THE MUSTACHE CONTEST is cute it isn't as weird or sadistic as Hertzfeldt's finer work (too bad!). Instead, the toon is just plain weird with an odd charm to it despite the harsh language that might make it inappropriate for young viewers.

The film starts out in the ocean. Several creatures are arguing about how cool they would look with mustaches (something that I am sure happens a lot). So they all have a contest and the one with the best mustache after one week will be the winner. While nothing overly exciting occurs, the film is goofy and compelling.
