just got this and I was totally surprised at how "studio quality" this film looked. I mean, they shot it for pesos or something, real low budget. Well directed, great performances (specially young Haley Boyle), a fantastic score and a weird finale. Well done, definitely worth a look. The little twins were real good, and the actor that played their father was excellent, real evil. Also, the flashback sequences were very well shot and executed.
The villain, Greg Thompson, was totally spot on, I suffer from tinnitus and his performance brought it all back. By the way, using tinnitus as part of the plot was smart, as it is a torture. Great film.

First of all, this is a real slick film. Too slick for my D movie cravings. I mean, low micro budget flicks usually should look and feel like crap, and there is a charm to those movies, what makes me love them, the underdogs, the ones without all the fancy Hollywood stuff.
But this film totally surprised me, from frame one, it looks awesome and it should not be like this. I congratulate Jose Cassella for photographing a solid piece of entertainment. Filmmakers take notice, this is how independent films, specially micro budget indie films should look like.
Loved the story, my father suffers from Tinnitus, so the use of that condition in the story line was a masterstroke.
I got this Tuesday from Blockbuster and I did hesitate at first, somehow the cover didn't do it for me. But I took the chance and you all should take a chance on this little gem.
Its not for everyone, as I read here among other comments, but for me this is one of the best Indie "horror" films I've seen...ever. I don't know if I should say "horror", it really isn't a horror film, its more like a drama with a few small touches of gore.
Also, the extras are gold, pure gold. The short film included, its called "Wish", its even better than the film!. and the Tinnitus PSA that is also on the extras is simply amazing, to the point and it contains a message that needs to be spread, people need to know about the damages of Tinnitus.
A surprise, truly a surprise.

Finally got to rent this. Huge fans of indie films and huge fan of horror cheese B-grade flicks. Unfortunately this was not what I expected. I was very impressed with the quality of the production. The IMDb budget says 1.5 million, which is BS. I read on Deadlantern.com the true budget and I was shocked. Lets just say the story is a bit predictable and the effects are so so, but its actually a small indie paranormal drama with touches of gore here and there. But there is quality here. First of all, for an indie of this price range it looks awesome, very professional. I did like the whole tinnitus thing, the ringing in the ears condition, I thought that using this as part of the story was amazingly original, never heard of it before, and I watch a lot of films! Very good, good, good job, can't imagine what these guys can do with an actual budget! Also read some great reviews on this film on other sites, so I hope it does well. As a movie fan, I am always on the lookout for small quality films like this. A surprise, total surprise.
This movie had several interesting elements: Asian horror style ghosts, twin sisters and flashes of their brutal childhood, and the primary story of a girl searching for her missing twin. At the same time it deals with guilt, fear and revenge. this film just never managed to pull everything together.
While it isn't a terrible film, it felt like it wasted so much of its originality and concept due to the lack of execution. There's a lot of influences from Asian horror movies in this film but not blatant or distracting.
That's the first half of the movie. The second half of the movie takes an turn away from the supernatural origins to a ridiculous revenge plot. While I understand the director intentionally left some parts of the story unresolved, it arrived at such unexpected conclusion via a nonsensical path.
Overall it isn't a bad film. It had a lot of interesting spots, but it took too long to fully develop, and when it finally got going, the story turns and becomes rather pointless.

I rented this movie because I watch a ton of Indies and love horror. Though it wasn't scary I was surprised by how beautifully shot this film is. I appreciate the grainy, home made looking movies too. They are fun but this does not look like low budget and the acting is way better than any low budget indie I've ever seen. It's not a blockbuster like The Ring but if you can appreciate independent films than it sets a new standard. There is Lifetime movie element to the story but I thought that it was entertaining. Maybe a couple holes in the plot but the ending gave me goosebumps. I say it was worth my four dollars. Don't expect an Academy award type film. Just appreciate for what it is.
