Lucky One

Vincent works at night in Paris underworld. Long nights, and he has lost the dreams of a better life. Then he has to take his responsibility for his 14 year old daughter Adina, and things changes. He never ever cared before. he is now dragged between the bad things he do at night, and the wish to be a god father for his daughter. Then one night this changes drastically.

This is a poetic and deep felt experiment, but fails to interest me all the way through. Even if it speeds up later. It's about how life, love and violence can be all within a person. The film often uses blackscreen where we only lisen to the conversations, and other times we see pictures of forests in Sweden and pictures of Paris, or inside a rain drenched car. This functions, but maybe not for a full length movie, despite it being a poetic one? There's half an our before we see one of the film's actors in the frame at all. This is very effectful and fascinating, and makes up for an exciting beginning, however, it's drawn too long. I really miss to feel the persons feelings in other than words.
