Not that I'm any kind of a true critic but I try to view these movies out of the eyes of my children and when they find it entertaining and they laugh a little while hearing some fun music then it makes the family watch list.
I saw a lot of harsh ratings on this movie, but from my daughters lenses (and they are seven and eight) it's a cute musical and a different spin on a classic. It will never be a classic and as long as you realize that then you will enjoy it.
Have fun.

Sneakerella is a good example of Disney recycling a Cinderella story but make it an easily forgettable kids film. Sure, it's not the worst Disney Plus movie with some good editing that upgrades from television and an engaging concept of a movie about designing shoes. But the fact this is made from Disney Channel, the execution was pretty poor due to its dull and predictable story. The humor is weak. The characters are bland. And the songs are more they belong on the radio than a movie. This could be a good option just to give an inspiration of designing new shoes probably for the new generation. Even so, I can't recommend this movie much. This is another example of a poorly made Cinderella story we've seen many times before and it's not really worth your time. It would've had better ways to make this enjoyable as a movie about shoe designs. But for what it is as Disney Channel's quantity over quality of making films, it's just another recycled Disney movie. Disney Plus, come on.
An updated, musical version of cinderella where slippers are replaced with sneakers and an aspiring artist as the main character. Though it slows in the middle a little, it's an entertaining revamp with heavy forgiveness and belief themes.
This movie to me hits the spot it's intended to hit. Yes it's corny, yes it's cheesy but is it a movie a dad could watch with his kids and enjoy a little for himself? Absolutely.
