I love supporting Canadian films, but I found the acting a bit cringe worthy. The story line wasn't bad, but I had a hard time getting past the poor acting.
I love Hallmark movies but this one was just trash - really trying too hard to make the lead actress seem hip and cosmopolitan. Here's a fun drinking game - take a shot every time the two leads say "avocado toast" - you'll be dead before the end of the movie. Also, the lead actress "makes up a word" for pretty and smug... it did not go well.
Brigitte Kingsley is just terrible. I hated her character within two minutes and her acting is horrendous. Twenty minutes in and I'm not sure I'll get much farther. Blech.
As the other reviewer said, the acting was abysmal, and I could only watch for 20 minutes. These 'actors/actresses' need to realise that there is an audience who needs to hear and understanding the dialogue - so NOT speaking at 100 mph is preferable, and only Marlon Brando got away with mumbling - clarity is what we need ! sadly these films do not have subtitles which would help ! Also they must act completely different in their auditions for these films, either that or the casting directors are desperate.
I managed to get as far as the 'party' in this film, but please can Directors get extras who can show more enthusiasm when dancing in the background ! Time and again we see guests at parties/weddings who just slowly bob around like they've all got leaden feet. We watch these films to escape our mundane lives for a couple of hours, not be made aware that our lives are so much better !!11

I wanted to like this. In truth I didn't finish it. I couldn't overlook the acting. It's really hard to watch. Maybe these people are better at their craft now. Maybe they were just off. It looks like maybe inexperience but I don't know. Sorry guys but I have to pass on this one 🙁

- PatzerWhen the main character Katie arrives at her hometown, she's rolling a suitcase behind her while she's walking down a train platform as if she had just arrived by rail, but there is literally no one else around. The train station obviously isn't actually in use. Here's an example where a dozen or so extras leaving and/or boarding the train would've maintained the illusion that it was a real working train station.
