The Oval

Honestly, I can't figure out if it's:

• so bad, that it's hilarious

OR

• if it's hilarious bc it's so bad

If you enjoyed watching "stories" with your grandma as a child, you will enjoy this show in a weirdly sadistic type of way.

Was looking forward to this New Series, but plop after 10 mins of Ep1.... I continued watching but it, the acting and the script just got worse. Such long pauses after some actors delivered their lines that I wondered if even the useless Director had nodded off. It was that bad..

... horrible, but, for some reason, you can't take your eyes away from it.

I also wanted to like this show, but the writing, acting, directing, and phony White House are all sooooo bad. That said, it's badness is mesmerizing, so I keep watching.

I have been a big fan of Tyler Perry and have watched all of his movies. He is very talented, however The Oval is one of the worst shows I have ever seen on TV. The actors are beyond exceptional looking but the acting and script is just as exceptionally bad. It is almost like they want it to be a comedy on Mad TV because it is so unbelievable. I had it to record before it aired because I had high hopes. I cancelled it after two episodes. The scenes are out of a high school performance . Not sure why it is still being aired. It is an insult to intelligence. The actors should stick to modeling, because they cannot act. but they can only be as good as the script that is written. bad bad bad.

Every show or movie that this guy puts out is 100% formulaic, shallow, dumb and without a hint of any vision, imagination or interesting storyline. Its like he has a show/film generator and he just adjusts a few names/characters and storyline and calls it a new show. EVERY character on this show is absolutely stereotypical with zero development or ambiguity, they all act predictable and you know from the start where this is going. You would have to actually try hard to make a show with less originality and imagination. What is even more sad for me is that this guy is supposedly pushing "boundaries" claimed by african-american various group however he is just basically exploiting them and using everybody as his personal mealtickets with every show, movie or program that he puts out so he can live in a palace. Shameless.
