Enjoyed the show until it became about bringing in girlfriend/fiance Heather. It is not her show, and like the wife of Drew Scott, they don't belong on camera. Tarek could do with a little more screen time with the flippers. He shouldn't disappear so much.
I always did like Tarek. From day one. My husband and I are not flippers, but we've done everything on our own on our three homes that we've had in our 42 year marriage. So I know a lot of stuff I really didn't want to know. So I can relate to talk when I see the look of frustration on his face when they do not follow his advice. We are very careful with our money. And I'm on pins and needles until the end of the show to see what happens to these poor people. He's a straight shooter. He's built a wonderful business through his hard work. Very admirable from my point of view and the remodeling of our houses that we've gone through.
I really enjoy watching Tarek 101. The only thing that I didn't like was too much personal with him and heather. It seems like he is bring her in way too much and it takes away from the show of renovations and working with the flippers.
First and foremost, I like the show because he still at least walks through the flip process
I watch all their post divorce shows for the same reason I watched flip it flop...I like the dump to paradise transformation. However I usually skip 90% of Christina's episodes to the end, because I hate the social media drama. I only came for the flips and their inate host charm. Most if her shoe is now about boogie rich friends who throw her a bone to remodel their house so she has a show
Unfortunately, Tarek also does this social media crap. Just less. Tbh, I can't stand his plasticy nee wife who looks like a lesser carbon copy of his old wife. I only care about the flips
Why does all of hdtv no longer show real builds and tips. It's all garbage now. Every show is unrealistic makeovers that solely feed social media celebrity fetish's and hdtv magazine photo shoots. I'll keep watching if tarek keeps at least where he is at now. I can just fast forward thru all the wife and $6m house struggles.
Ps. Never loved the coverage of his kids. I came here for house stuff. But it's now obnoxious to see these kids in their spoiled flavor. And She very one on screen can't see it and things it's adorable. Not realizing the audience is laughing at them all.

I was a big fan of the original "Flip or Flop" with Tarek and Christina, but was pretty doubtful about this show. After watching most episodes, I have to admit that I have mixed feelings.
As a former IT software development manager and certified project manager, most of the advice Tarek provides is excellent. Multitasking, pushing contractors hard, negotiating costs and change orders and setting firm delivery dates with penalties is great advice. Perhaps it's my background, but this seems like common sense to me.
Unfortunately, most of the flippers on this show don't seem to have a clue. They don't listen to Tarek, they make major unplanned changes without considering the implications and none of them seem to be able to keep contractors in line.
Perhaps this is the intent of the show. Unfortunately, I think it often comes across as new flippers are incompetent, headstrong morons that think they know better than a highly experienced professional.
I know that HGTV has to make the show interesting, but I think the underlying vibe is that most new flippers are idiots. This is just my opinion.
Nonetheless, I still enjoy the show. Tarek is a skilled leader and mentor, and his advice is amazing. I'll continue to watch and see how the show progresses.
