Highway to Heaven

My wife and I were big fans of the original series and have the entire series on DVD. So we were looking forward to this new version. It's wonderful! A great cast, especially Barry Watson. There were a few great surprises, especially at the very end. The lead character, Jill Scott brings just the right touch to her character referring at times to "my boss". Here sensitivity is just right as she deals with more than just one person needing "readjustment of attitudes". I think it was successful to the original idea because two of Michael Landon's sons were involved in the production. We've seen the program two times so far and are hoping this turns into a regular series. Though we won't see most of the characters in the future (except for the new assistant to the "angel"), we know and believe this show is a needed thing during the times in which we live.

I watched the Highway to heaven series; and, this was similar in content.

However, is it a good movie?

Seriously, I thought we didn't make anymore 'B' movies. As a movie this was mediocre at best. Not only was it predictable, expected, but the acting just about put me to sleep.

If this becomes a new series, please change the cast to interesting actors, and get a better script writer.

And then there is the question; why do we have to be inundated with remakes of old shows?

Doesn't anybody haves enough imagination or talent to write new shows?

If you were a fan of the original Michael Landon series, you will enjoy this one. Jill Scott is the angel sent to earth to assist a young boy and his father. As typical with these movies, yes, the plot can be predictable but with a movie like this, we do not need mind shattering surprises or twists. I personally want a story I can understand and relate to and an ending that gives me hope and faith in God, people and the world in general. Jill Scott is extremely well suited to this role. She channels a feeling and aura that reminds me of Della Reece which is a huge compliment in a faith based movie.

We need something like this... After touched by an angel and the original highway to heaven... I hope they make this is serious this was really great and Jill Scott was wonderful as the angel Angela.

It is such a heartwarming and beautiful movie! The message was just great! Jill Scott was just amazing in this role. You can just feel she put all her heart and soul into this movie. In such uncertain and difficult times we need more kindness and this is a reminder that everyone can be an angel to those who are struggling in this life.
