I'm sorry but some people must be super cynical. This is a story about a dad and daughter who lost their wife/mother the year before. The dad meets a neighbor who is lonely and kind, and she has a doodle. They hit it off. I love the Christmas songs and I think this simple story of faith is a delight. It's about moving forward when life has been difficult. Who doesn't need to see a good story about that once in a while? Sure, it wasn't made with a big budget but I think it does the job and the Christmas music is awesome. It was a family made project and I think it's great a family pulled together to make this film.
So I was searching Christmas movies on Netflix and this one showed in the list of suggestions. We have a Golden doodle so I thought this would be the perfect movie to watch. It didn't take me long once the movie started to realize this was not going to be a good movie experience. A Pre-school Christmas pageant would be more entertaining. Also I have never seen a movie on Netflix filmed with an iPhone before. This movie is so bad it has ruined my Christmas.
I can never look at our dog the same way again so I had to take him outside and shoot him. Now the kids are crying, I've got a dead dog and it's Christmas morning. Thank you Christmas doodle for ruining our Christmas day.
*okay okay I didn't actually shoot our dog calm down already but this movie could induce many things including violence and vomiting.
Oh gosh I need Pepto-Bismol.

The writing wasn't super. The acting wasn't Oscar worthy. The filming looks like it might have been made with a phone or something.
But, the movie does contain a hopeful and beautiful message, and that is the reason I watched it.
It's not often that a movie is made with faith as the driving force.
It's a nice movie.
I didn't really care anything about the dog.
The following is just filler.
I'm somewhat disappointed that the site requires you to write a minimum of 400 letters in order to leave a review. I'm not trying to spoil the movie for anyone, but instead, let you know a little bit about the message.

Maybe the worst of everything. Horrible acting, dialogue, film quality, editing. Cannot believe it is being shown anywhere. True it was only 48 minutes long but it was possibly the greatest waste of 48 minutes in my entire life.
This is not a glossy movie, but low budget home-movie feel - not necessarily a problem for me, especially as filmed in the Pandemic, but the poor sound balance is a put-off. The only reason we selected this show was because we were struggling to find ones with subtitles and this does, but defo needed them as speaking / sound effects / music levels weren't ideal! There's not a lot of speaking, rather many scenes with songs playing (not particularly a fan as too many tracks, although provides a break from regular festive soundtracks. Again, maybe that makes it different from the hundreds of other Christmas movies.
