Cat and Mouse

The first episode is good. The second I'll admit lost me a bit and I started messing around on my phone and doing all of those things we do when something average is on the screen. The third episode I skipped through.

20 years ago this would have been condensed into an hour and have been an episode in a true crime series and would have been good. Not nowadays though. These days everything has to be stretched out as long as possible so instead this is bloated and loses its dramatic effect very quickly. It tries wwaayy too hard to seem important and modern and cutting-edge.

20 years from now and no one will remember this show or the killer that it spends its 190 minute run-time salivating over.

If you like documentaries on true crime then I'd skip this one.

If you enjoy Netflix shows that treat you like you're an infant the whole way through and try to seem way smarter than they are (but still want have an interest in this case) I would try the local library instead.

The first instalment of this three part documentary series is darker than similar fare, with the focus on a psychopathic cat killer whose identity is (initially) unknown but who soon becomes the subject of an international cyber hunt.

Beautifully shot and absolutely gripping, this is a twisting, turning, unpredictable journey into darkness.

Just watch this first episode and think WTF! All in this show is amazing!

I only vaguely remember hearing about the original horrific acts, I do however very much remember the front page of The Sun, the python incident.

This is another of those grilling documentaries, highlighting real life, extraordinary events.

I enjoyed those telling the story, what I didn't enjoy was hearing how the mob pushed that poor chap to take his own life, that was a horrid sequence.

I am interested to learn more about Luka, why would a young man behave in such a way, on the outside, he's very handsome, seems comfortably off, why on Earth would someone in his position carry out such monstrous behaviour.

Am keen to learn more about him.

Gripped, 8/10.
