An excellent show for 3+. Even though the show is about superpowered kids, the kids often need to rely on their "superpowers of science" to solve problems. It's a great show that explores nature, STEM, environmentalism, and other approachable topics with a group of diverse kids with fun superpowers. I think the best part of the show is that there is no "fighting", instead they solve problems with their abilities or their powers of observation, intelligence, and critical thinking skills.
If you hate this show, you're either really dumb or an ableist. People are saying that this show is a ripoff of the anime My Hero Academia. Both shows involve superhero schools, but that doesn't make Hero Elementary a ripoff. In fact, Hero Elementary was based on a 2009 book called Superhero School. The My Hero Academia manga came way later.
Anyways, let's judge the show on its own merits:
Animation and Art Style: The animation is a mixed bag. It's sometimes smooth, sometimes not. But I can look past it. The art style is nice, reminds me of comic books.
Writing: The writing isn't as smart as Let's Go Luna or Ready Jet Go, but there are some funny jokes here and there and the show is educational, teaching kids about making science observations.
Characters: The show's biggest strength is its characters. They're all likable, relatable, and diverse. For example: Lucita and Mr. Sparks are Latinos, Sara is biracial, AJ is Black and autistic, and Benny is plus-size. They're all good role models for kids, and are not brats, contrary to popular belief. AJ is my favorite because I, too, am on the autism spectrum, and the way he's depicted is realistic. He has special interests, sensitivities to water and loud noises, and stims by flapping his hands sometimes.
Music: The theme song is really catchy, and the rest of the soundtrack is upbeat jazz-like music that fits the superhero theme well.
Enjoyment: With deep characters, an expansive world, and fast pacing, Hero Elementary is another hit show for PBS. Please watch it, and please don't spread stupid lies about it. Thanks for reading!

Hero Elementary has superheroes who have superpowers that aren't really fighting skills, but rather abilities. This show also has characters used words of bad acting at the wrong scenes that makes no sense. This show needs to give characters some fighting skills as their superpowers, and have characters say something good at the right scenes.
My son is biracial he is Black and Latino. There isn't much shows that include Black or Latino characters. So, he doesn't see a child that looks like him on TV which is sad. But, this shows diverse characters is great! There's finally a character where my son can be like, "Oh that looks like me!". It's a cute and educational show. 100% recommend.
Good content with real facts about life and problem solving.
