At 45 minutes, "The Hand Bag" is the first feature film coming off the blocks for Atlanta-based Alvondo Vinson, who shrewdly leverages lighting techniques mastered in the still photography world and adapts them with great success to the moving pictures game. It's an inspiring reminder to budding filmmakers: At some point, it's time to get the damn camera out and start shooting (and editing and growing), or risk never becoming a filmmaker in the first place.
Violence is a recurring theme here; revenge-driven, but non-traditionally so. False imprisonments, serrated hacksaws, and future dead people reign supreme. The cinematography is solid throughout, with impressive aerial shots punctuating the winding roadways symbolic of the paths its characters are heading down.
For all the corporate hugeness the world associates with Amazon, the company's online ecosystem offers an incredible DIY film publishing platform with which to get seen and heard (and sometimes even paid). Here's hoping "The Hand Bag" is one day the film that started it all for Alvondo Vinson. - (Was this review of use to you? If so, let me know by clicking "Helpful." Cheers!)

These people are making me a lier. I defend B movies. But this movie sucked by any standard. There were so many things wrong with this movie. The sound engineer hasn't started school yet (any school). The special effects, were really special. The best part about this flick was it was only 45 minutes. The so called love scene was awful. The acting was terrible. The casting director must have casted everyone he owed a favor to. The girl that was supposed to be a model, must have been a hand model. And the one that thought she was all that, was better looking after she was shot in the face. Everyone that gave this movie a 10 rating, was in the movie and they were under contract to do so. Nuff Said Mike Out.
Well, The Hand Bag was a surprise. For a film with a simple title, it was far from simple-- but in the best possible way! The Hang Bag is a deeply intense and surprising suspenseful drama full of twists and turns. What I loved most about The Hand Bag was the feelings that the excellent cinematography evoked. This revenge story kept me on the edge of my seat, quite literally, throughout. A very strong debut and I look forward to more by this team. Recommend!
I was hooked on this one from the beginning. The movie is all about revenge and it keeps you guessing what is going to happen next. This some cool twists and overall it's pretty well acted. Worth the watch.
This movie took me through it, just trying to keep up with the drama. I was left wanting more!
