The Ramones and one of their biggest hits, "Rock 'N' Roll High School," were featured in the 1979 musical comedy film of the same name. The movie was filmed on the campus of a defunct high school in Los Angeles, which had been closed just a few years earlier in 1976. It follows the story of a rebellious student who, while constantly getting into trouble, is also a devoted Ramones fan.
The music video shows the band performing and messing around in a high school classroom, clearly uninterested in learning or behaving. Instead, they embrace a reckless, anti-establishment attitude, proudly declaring that they don't care about high school. At times, we see stop-motion animation of a head drawn on a blackboard-reminiscent of early 1900s silent-era films like The Enchanted Drawing or Humorous Phases of Funny Faces by J. Stuart Blackton.
