I am 35 minutes into the film and so far it is a difficult viewing. People who think this is good and funny must be the filmmakers themselves? None of the characters is likable. This is not cinema but unfunny literature/theater. The 3 stars out of 10 are for the crew's courage to finish the shoot.
This movie is full of charm and extremely subtle.
The main character is played by a VERY talented young actor from the renowned Comedie Francaise, which bring all the subtilitiesof the script as an enjoyable jewel!
The story is about "which Speech (discours) shalI deliver at my sister's wedding ?"and the several angles through which this shy but talenetd brother might articulate his speech, A real jewel. Don't know if the English subtitles are good enough to convey the subtilities of the monologues!

I almost never laugh with comedies, because the jokes are mostly so obvious. Here the good ones are not. I am giving it a ten, because it made me laugh, also cry a little bit, and also think about my own relationships. All you need from an easy movie. It is a ten for a comedy that makes you at least chuckle many many times.
French cinema, and historically European cinema overall, often embraces a more unconventional and experimental style compared to that of Hollywood. This film is a perfect example of that.
The setup for the plot is just genius. It mainly takes place at a dinner table, with a guy imagining different scenarios, and it works so well and is so well written and funny. The script is very clever and just perfect, and the actors all do an incredible job.
It all leads up to a fun climax that I will not spoil, but is definitely a masterpiece that should be experienced. In a theater if possible, that's where I watched it.

It's a comedy that brings not outloud laughter but rather smiles as feeling the main character is confiding in you !
The main character lets you in his thoughts and suggests a number of ways the storyline could develop . Quite refreshing.
Man whose girlfriend wants a "pause" in their relationship is then asked to do something he is pretified at the prospect of doing: giving a speech at his sister wedding.
Poor man already has enough in his plate trying to sort out his relationship in "pause" !
So he confides in the viewer what he might or might not do and shows the various scenarios.
Quite an enjoyable movie.
