Murderous Minds: Inside Serial Killers

The commentator on this programme is absolutely terrible. Almost makes the series unwatchable.

It would be okay, if not lifeless young man's narration. Makes it look very amature, literally like 16 year old boy reading the text, without changing expression ever. The material itself is not bad, some of the stuff told was new to me.

I would rate it 8/10 but the narrator easily steals 3 stars from my rating.

I recognized the narrators voice immediately. My ex used to listen to him read ghost stories on youtube. The man whispers....dully. I honestly cannot comprehend why anyone listens to him or watches this.... aside from using his voice as a sedative.

Like lots of people, I have a morbid fascination with murder documentaries. Desperate for ANYTHING interesting to watch on Amazon Prime, I saw this and said cool. The series has the usual lineup of serial killers and really doesn't offer much extra, although there were some pictures I hadn't seen before and I'll give extra credit for that...although many of them were marked "re-enactment." They looked authentic, but huh?

But I'm afraid I have to agree with most of the reviewers on here, that the main problem is the quiet monotonous delivery of the narrator. Honestly, I fell asleep THREE TIMES in my recliner during the Ed Gein episode and it took forever to finally watch the whole thing. The music was so low I really couldn't hear it, so perhaps it might have helped. As it was, it just served as a relaxing lullaby to go with the calm bedtime stories.

This is really excellent! The makers did an immense work and thorough research, and I was kept entertained the whole time. The narrator was also part of the research process (which he says in one of the episodes), and I can tell he is truly interested in the stories told.

Regardless if you are new to true-crime or already hardcore fan, this is a great choice :-) I myself have binged almost everything on Netflix, and I luckily found this on Prime Video. Don't listen to the nay-sayer reviews here.

The episodes are neatly sorted, with one or two serial killers in each, and I learned a lot on crimes I had knowledge of already.
