À l'ombre des filles

Many films have addressed the subject of the prison world, and already some of them through an outsider. This is not the best of them.

The prisoners are well staged. Their singularities, attitudes, feelings and reactions are vividly and crediblely scripted. That's the highlight of the movie.

The big weakness of the film is Luc, the singing teacher. His behavior is inconsistent, his play mediocre, his character unbelievable.

Finally, the scenario dilutes itself to want to develop too much.

The political charge at the end of the film is totally incongruous in a film whose main point is intimate.
