Wow, Sí is one of the best short films that I have watched recently. I liked most about the film's courage to talk about the complex yet rarely discussed issues of consent society. Most people think that a woman can only offer consent (at least in my community), and a man should not decline. I agree with Carlos in the film; this is a complex issue. What happens when a man is willing to withdraw the consent at any stage? Does that mean that he is taking away the woman's power to say yes? I wish this film was longer. I like the topic selected, and the director should consider making the movie longer. I think the issue of consent needs to b explored further. I will recommend the film to my friends. I need to have this conversation with them.

I believe this story is potential for most of the audience who want to watch such meeting of the strangers that ends up with the friendship or any other relation.

I think the major concept behind the storyline of this Spanish short film is to elaborate the major aspects regarding the young generation, especially when they meet to their opposite gender and want to proceed their talk to some relationship. The story progresses through the mental conflicts of both characters. Anita's decision to say yes represents the women, who achieved the power of the mind. Setting your personal boundaries and respecting your partner's are all part of consenting and asking for consent - and checking in if things aren't clear. For sex to be consensual, both parties must agree to it every time. In her life Anita faced both situations, in one situation she wanted to say no, but she was helpless. She lost her power to say no.

It is revealed that Anita is a bold women who survived a tragic incident that happens to her. We can understand that books really helped her a lot to overcome her haunting past. She reads a lot about inspirational and self-improvement. This shows her willingness to never give up.

Plot-wise, the short film leaves a lot to audience's perspective and confidently omits explanation of victimization. When we talk about a person being victimised, it means they're being treated badly or unfairly because they have made a complaint about sexual harassment or racial and religious vilification. This is no detraction from the character-focused story which puts the relationship between the two leads at the heart, and builds each of the pair slowly and patiently to explain the rift. It is the characters and their journey which grab the audience's intrigue.

Sí is a brilliant short with a fantastic flow. It's certainly worth checking out. With convincing acting and has a plot that the viewer will want to follow.

So much so that Anita invites Carlo to her place. After a long fun conversation, Anita fills up a nightcap and asks one extremely interesting question. She asked Carlo if he has ever been roofied before. The question takes him by surprise but it starts a whole another conversation between them. Anita confesses about an incident that happened with her during a trip to Cancun. The two get more comfortable with each other but Carlo suddenly has second thoughts about taking it any further. It quickly turns into a deep conversation about compulsion and consent. Si highlights a very common issue that people mostly avoid talking about. It highlights the idea of consent in the simplest way possible. The 8 minute long short film leaves the audience with many questions that should be raised when meeting someone new. At its core, the film is not only about the usual "no" reaction, but from the perspective of women who says yes. What does that yes imply when it is coming from a woman who has been raped or taken advantage of before? What does it imply when a guy says no? Is it out of respect and care? These are some of the questions that we need to ask ourselves when meeting a potential significant other. The concept of Si is incredibly strong and powerful. Ponferrada has done a spectacular job at conveying this important message into our lives with this movie. The film may be short but it takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and at the end, it teaches a powerful lesson to both men and women about the idea of asking for consent.
