The official remake of the 2018 Hindi hit, Andhadhun. I've seen the original but I don't remember much of it, figured I'd give this a shot, at least to see how different this one is from the Hindi-verison. Just because watched Andhadhun first, I'm biased towards the original but the Tamil version was surprisingly better than I thought it would be.
There's some cringeworthy overacting in the first 10-15 mins, beyond which, it gets better. Simran was good, Prashanth was good and so was the rest of the cast. If you've not watched the original, I'd totally recommend it. If you've seen it, maybe watch it to see Prashanth and Simran back on the screen after a while, but don't expect the film to wow you.

It's a treat for his fans, especially seeing him in such a commanding role after GOAT.

Karthik sir: After a hiatus, Karthik sir makes a remarkable comeback with his typical charm and energetic acting. His role is nostalgic & his presence enriches the film.
Manobala sir: Though Manobala sir is no longer with us, his unique and subtle performance in this film reminds us of the talent we've lost. His presence on-screen is a poignant reminder of his irreplaceable contribution to Tamil cinema.
Director producer Thyagaraj sir: The Real Star
Thyagaraj sir proves his mettle as a storyteller with Adhagan. His ability to craft a complex yet relatable narrative keeps the audience engaged throughout the film. The climax in particular is a testament to his directorial brilliance, tying together all the threads of the story in an unexpected yet satisfying way. His vision transforms the film into more than just a thriller-it's an emotional and cinematic experience.
Music and Choreography: A Missed Opportunity
While the music supports the narrative, the songs could have been more memorable. The choreography, in particular, feels underwhelming, especially considering Prashanth's dancing prowess. A few well-choreographed dance sequences could have elevated the movie further.
Technical Brilliance
The cinematography deserves special mention for its ability to capture the emotional highs and lows of the protagonist's journey. The lighting and framing create a vivid atmosphere, enhancing the mood of the film. The background score elevates the tension, seamlessly blending with the storytelling
Finally: Adhagan is a beautifully crafted movie with a compelling script, brilliant performances & stellar direction by Thyagaraj sir. It's a movie that showcases the best of Tamil cinema, with Prashanth's triumphant return being the icing on the cake. Despite minor shortcomings in music and choreography, the film is a must-watch. A well made frame to frame honest remake of the original hindi version of thia movie named same title ANDHADHUN.. somone who has not seen the original and it's telugu or malyalam remakes would really enjoy this movie ... I have seen thia movie twice in hindi and its malayalam and telugu remake .. So I was not really enjoying it... But I enjoyed was absolutely brilliant casting of the characters especialky SIMRAN the queen and KS Ravikkumar. ... Prashanth, has really underplayed and played the role of his character and not as a hero which will what lift him in his comeback innings in future movies... He has played his role really well... Very good screenplay adapting original ... BGM was really good for a crime thriller and the climax song was good but dialogues were pretty flat and ordinary which has led down this movie... First time watchers GO FOR IT to appreciate the story line built....
