Please Don't Date Him

Korea again and it's a nice production again. It's fun and genious. For a long time, Korean dramas are more valuable to me than Hollywood. Congratulation!

Korean Drama " Please Don't Date Him " uses the prompt of the sci fi story well and blends it nicely with the romance.

However, it leaves a lot unsolved and the big mysteries were not as satisfying as they should. Also, the characters tended to act in an annoying way, or, to be more specific, in a frustrating way. In addition, the camera work was shaky.

Now that we got the negative parts of the drama out, let's talk about the positive ones. The romance was pretty sweet, and the couple had chemistry. The two side couples were pretty entertaining too and funny at times. The three girlfriends and their friendship were even more interesting. The drama was also spot on. Finally, the industrial spy case was thrilling at moments.

Also, the performances were all great from everyone in the cast.

So, overall, six and a half out of ten.

The more I watch Korean series, the more I realise that they can't keep the quality all the way to the end.

I liked the first 4 episodes (I would rate them 6-7). Nice pace, decent acting, some really funny scenes (I actually rewinded some of them-I really liked them). I also thought that it wouldn't drag a lot, having only 10 episodes.

But after the 4th episode things started getting weird. It wasn't as funny any more and the cat/dog noises were getting overused and unnecessary. They were trying too hard to make it funny. And for some reason it become dark for a bit, because why not? I had enough after watching a few minutes of the 8th episode. Such a shame. It could have been one of the funniest Korean series.

Last note (minor spoiler): it feels like a poorly executed copy of "Melo is my nature". It was giving me the same vibes from the start but I actually made the connection when they started using references from other kdramas like they did in "melo is my nature"

Edit: I forgot to mention the shaky camera. It actually made me feel a little dizzy at times. I also didn't like the quality of the colours. It's something I notice in new kdramas. I don't know if they do this on purpose or it's just one more thing going wrong

Absolutely charming! Witty, satirical, funny, but also treats some serious issues without labouring them. Subtle and expressive acting from the lead and the other 4 main protagonists. To me as a European, sometimes its Korean style comedy seems a bit over the top (nobody's perfect), but it's easy to put that aside as this series was exceptionnally enjoyable. I hope there will be a season 2 ...
