I thought this was very well done for an independent film, I was able to suspend disbelief and enjoy the concept. I stayed engaged throughout the film, and I'm known for shutting things off early or falling asleep during films if they can't hold my interest so that's kind of my barometer. Great acting by Ms. Vertuga and the rest of the cast. The actress who played the demonologist was effective as well. The way they used security camera footage/angles made it feel more real. The house wasn't a perfect air b n b so that made it more accessible as well. People are afraid of pit bulls but in this movie you will see they will do nothing to help you if faced with dark forces. They do enjoy laying on the bed, however. 🤣
"Crime/Horror" is mislabeling. The horror elements are tertiary at best; There's no grizzled old cop with a secret trying to solve a cold case on the last day before retirement. The framework seems to be about having fun with the found footage genre and influencer social saturation versus derisively making fun of it. I don't notice any character type depicted in a mean spirited light.
There's nothing bombastic in the range of look or performance. The interviewees are purposely singularly absurd in their viewpoint but measured delivering their kooky theories. It's not slap stick but nothing close to subtle either. It's pretty good acting but it might be a little off putting if you are in the mood for something a bit more overt.

This ones a doozie. Just because you can make a movie doesn't mean you should. Some of the most cringe acting and setup I've seen, and I've gone down the Tubi rabbit hole. The woman playing Lexi is so frickin irritating. Every time she says "Lexicons" I wanted to pluck my own eye out. Poorly done and clearly a ripoff of much better indie films in this mock-style genre. Avoid at all costs.
Lexi is a found footage mockumentary that would be better received if it ditched its attempt at a horror thriller and really went all out as a crime comedy mystery. The small bit of comedy in this was the best part and I would've liked to had more intentional parts to laugh at.
I had seen another missing vlogger movie called The Case of: Dakota Moore and Lexi was basically just like that, only there was a real effort at production value on Lexi at least. The three interviewees on the film are the best actors, bringing authenticity to every line they delivered.
In addition to the desired comedy aspect, I disliked how repetitive the first hour was. This part could be 3 or 4x shorter and would've had just a much story told with tighter editing.

Lexi was a lot better than the usual found-footage trash you'll find on Tubi. The faux-mockumentary approach actually works in its favor, and the absence of unnecessarily shaky cam and a negligible reliance on jumpscares add to its positives. There's also an interesting discussion about how modern-day content creators are looked at, beyond their channels and platforms. The perceptions vary, especially in a world that's interested more in seeing people's downfalls than successes. In the world of content creation, phrases like "controversy creates cash" and "trauma/sex sells" are commonly heard. This also makes it hard to differentiate what's raw & real and what isn't.
The actual horror part of the film is also only subtly put across. They never show an outright entity or person that results in Lexi's descent into paranoia. It lies in the unseen, the unheard. The actress playing Lexi - let's forget she's referred to as a 29-year-old because that's BS - but her expressive eyes had me hooked. Every time she was directly facing the camera, it had a bit of a spooky effect on me. Her performance, while a bit overboard in the final act, was pretty solid overall. The ending leaves it ambiguous; we don't get to hear from Lexi's friend who keeps texting her, or Lexi's mother, and from a writing perspective, I guess that was a miss.
