Two Dash One One

That's it. Nothing happens. There's almost nothing of a dramatic arc. The women are making slight tweaks to their relationship, but the emotional conflict and its resolution, to the small extent that there is any, does not ring true. The dialogue endlessly rehashes the same trivia. There's nothing special about the actresses that makes their presence or their stories compelling or even interesting. It's too bad; I love it when a micro-budget film pops up that is interesting or touching. This one doesn't make the grade. I salute the filmmakers for developing enough practical skills to pull together a movie, and hope they can work with more substantial program material for their next effort, and maybe they'll create something worth watching. But they're not there yet.

Two Dash One One is a sweet romantic drama with elements of Before Sunrise, if it was set in the afterlife. The film follows Marnie and April, who are very much in love but discover life's conflicts and obstacles don't go away after you die. Writers Rosie Grace and Nate Hapke deftly raise big questions about life and relationships while showcasing the pure love that exists between the couple. Beautifully shot by director Nate Hapke with stellar performances and chemistry between actresses Mackenzie Breeden and Allie Leonard that will keep you rooting for this couple and make you believe in the power of love.
