If anyone could relate to the issues presented in this series I can. This series would be far better served to have English CC that covered ALL of the dialogue; I find this a great disservice, and unfortunately other films have the same issue.
I am a "boomer", born and raised in Arizona. Overt racial prejudices in other areas of the U. S. were not apparent in AZ, but the unspoken segregation was not lost on me; the damn attitude that "children should be seen and not heard" made me keep my own council, and not confront my parents.
I sat on many questions such as "Why was there only one Chinese student in my entire grade school, and the other students were all white?" This was only one of many others. I knew my parents weren't prejudiced.
On one occasion, (a long buried memory) my parents had taken some food to an Indian family, in Sahuarita AZ. Their father was a hard worker, had done some back breaking work for us, but was an alcoholic; prone to drink up the money instead of providing for his family.
Their "home" was a two room cinderblock shack; no amenities whatsoever. No indoor plumbing, only a wood stove, a dirt floor, not even window screens to keep out swarms of flies.
This was a real object lesson on how much I had, in contrast to others. Issues of class, immigration, culture and family covered in the series are not lost on me. I have genuine concern, not just complaining for its own sake.
Because of this I ceased watching after midway through Episode 2. One cannot have a correct grasp of the story when CC "cherry picks" the dialogue.

First thing first, I always hope for a movie like this type of genre. But nowadays the shows just not good as back then. This series as good as "The Last Ship" series. Sweet heat, really!. This show is complete with enough intensity, wonderful Cinematography, great actor and acting. Plus, the storyline makes me impatient to wait for another episodes. Only 5 episodes?? C'mon let me cook the entire dishes just to eat on another casa grande episodes. Not to be left as well, the character 'john pyper Ferguson ' he too played as Tex Nolan in "The Last Ship". Extraordinary series i would say. Love it!
This is an exciting show and the actors are awesome!! Mael, Hassie, Hunter the entire cast is unreal. Love this new blood.
I'm really excited about where the writers are taking this. It could go in so many directions.
The end of episode 5!! WHAT??!!!!
Lauren Swickard and Ali Ashfar have delivered a hit with this show. Usually it's Christmas movies from you two. What a surprise this is. Gritty, exciting leaving you wanting more. It's great this is on Amazon Freevee, so many people can stream this. Please continue this series it's really powerful. I don't want to give any spoilers but I'm so bummed one of the characters was killed.
Looking forward to more. Hate having to wait.

Such a cliff hanger at the end. Does anyone know if it was cancelled? Season 2? I can't find anything about it online. It's driving me crazy. Such and amazing show with intense themes. I couldn't take my eyes away from the screen. Need more! Need to know what happens next like now. I really want another season to come out. One of the best most heart rendering shows with real life scenarios. Definitely should be more watched than it is. Amazing acting. You fall in love with many of the characters. Amazing writing. I cried while watching the show. I definitely recommend this to others if you haven't seen it, definitely watch it and then make a review so we can get more episodes.

This is a great limited series. It combines the sweeping dramas of a western-themed family narrative with an au courant exploration of racial and socioeconomic disparity and strife in contemporary Northern California farm country. And on top of all that it's a great watch. It might sound heavy handed and typical Hollywood fodder, telling you what to think and how to react but this one just lets the story unfold and invites you along for the ride. The shows creators did a great job coming up with the blueprint and the director also did a great job capturing the beauty and visual feast that is Northern California. Check this one out!
