Kasthuri Maan

Prasanna reminds us of Karthik in many scenes . He is a diligent and studious son of Sarath Babu - an ex film producer. Today they are in dire needs . The creditors keep pestering him for money often. Prasanna wants to study to become an IAS officer to take his family out of poverty .

His college mate Meera Jasmine keeps lending him money. He is under the impression that she's very rich and spoilt but soon realises that she is a maid in many houses. She also stops her studies to take up more house work .

She has her own poignant poverty ridden story. Her sister and BIL keep visiting often. He has designs on her himself . When Prasanna comes to know this , he changes his opinion about her. The BIL tries to create problems between Meera and Prasanna . A couple of duets later, he goes to Delhi to pursue his dream . Meera endures a lot for his sake including his own sister's taunts.

She keeps supporting her sister and warding off her BIL . Kulappulli Leela comes in a comic villain role as the BIL's mother . She is likable in her short role as a loud rude mother in law. She invokes a of laughs in this serious movie .

In the end, Meera ends up killing her BIL and goes to jail. Prasanna becomes an IAS officer and decides to wait for her for a decade to marry despite his parents pressurizing him .

Over all a fine movie . Sarath Babu invokes a lot of sympathy as some one tied with debts . Meera and Prasanna are more than adequate in their main roles. A couple of fine songs are thrown in .
