I say this movie was a pretty solid movie. The beginning was a little slow and I could ask for more scenes of Sangyi & Insu together, but overall it was a really solid movie.
They were a cute little meet-cute situation. Where Insu was a great singer-songwriter, Sangyi had a great talent for harmonizing with him.
Acting was a little unnatural at times, but I personally found it tolerable.
But this is the kind of queer love story I've been waiting for my entire life. As someone who is both Asian (hmong) and a lesbian, I think all my life I've been waiting for just cheesy romance movies with people who like the same sex, just like me.
This movie may not have been absolutely phenomenal, but it's enough of a good movie that it feels good.
I appreciate that they didn't have to add in homophobia as a plot point because honestly, as someone who is homosexual, I think I'm tired of having our media consumed in homophobia, where its all gloom and doom.
Overall, if you're in the mood for a cute, cheesy love story that just happens to be between 2 men, this is the movie for you. Nothing ground breaking, but just a really nice story about how 2 people fell in love through music. Simple, but very important representation for the future of LGBTQ+ representation.
And goddamnit, I've waited my life for these movies where queer people can just be people and fall in love. Representation is getting better and better as the years pass by, hopefully one day I don't have to be back to beg for more queer media.

Although it's not illegal to be a gay man in South Korea, it is frowned upon and I have found outright expression of gay feelings to be quite rare in the vast catalogue that is the current wave of K-dramas; finding instances where one of these extraordinary K-pop singer/actors might expose his chest is a tough one, more's the pity. They are nearly all as fit as a butcher's dog. So it is refreshing to find this little vignette openly telling a lovely, if somewhat lumpy little gay love story.
The story is simplicity itself: boy musician falls in love with another boy musician and the outcome is inevitable. The acting is a bit forced at times, but one can forgive these lovely guys, just because they are so much eye candy.
No Oscars here, but cuteness abounds; enjoy it for the sake of it.
This movie has a simple plot, boy meets boy, they fall in love. And while it is certainly lacking in some places, the acting isn't grammy winning quality, but it is believable enough that it doesn't just make you laugh and wanna turn the movie off. Some plot points are not finished, and the couple doesn't actually bond much on screen, but we cannot look at this film through a western perspective. Being queer in s.korea is very frowned upon, and isn't shown in media very often, unlike western media, where you're more likely to find a movie or series with a gay character or couple. Also, this limits what directors will show in queer movies, so this film doesn't have close intimacy. I think the couple is very cute, and there isn't really any angst, which is a check in my book. Not much happens, and while some may not like this, it makes the movie very easy to watch, it's a peaceful movie.
It's better not to expect much from the film. It's not a new thing actually, but you'll still love it. It's really peaceful, romantic, and heartwarming love story. It also shows us how music connects people, builds relationships, and makes them aware of the right path in life.
Thanks to all the film crews, and the two protagonists that stole my heart.
