This is by all means an above average horror anthology. It has episodes that are stronger than others and some that fall too short but in comparison to many other horror anthologies it certainly stands above plenty.
Many judge this based on Zak and disregard the actual content of the episodes. There are some complaints to be held regarding cinematography, lighting, story and acting but both one by one and as a whole they have a common theme and feeling running through.
Don't go in expecting masterful horror, expect common themes and stories, some clichés but it has plenty of creepy moments while some episodes are genuinely great and creepy.
To comment on Zak, he is a persona that some don't click with. Personally I enjoy his antics with his team on Ghost Adventures even if ghosts don't exist, they have great chemistry while Zak individually has a perchant for being overly melodramatic and this can be argued here too.
All in all, I've enjoyed all episodes in some ways and some more than others. I'm in between a 6 and a 7, closer to a 7 than a 6 as I have enjoyed many of the episodes based on the horror element. As a series stacked up to others I'd say it's a solid 6.

Can someone please tell me what movie clips are shown on the intro to this show? My guess they are old silent films but any ideas on what they may be?
The trading is below 6? Really, what do you expect from this show? It's a low budgeted horror series so let go of your strict criteria for rating. About the show, each episode has a different horror story. Some are scary and some are not. All the stories are told by a museum owner Zak Bagans, who collects seemingly haunted artifacts that caused troubles in the past. So entertaining to watch especially you have a bad and stressful day from your work or study. I hope there will be more seasons coming up. But spending too much time on watching this kind of show bores me, one or two episodes each time would be great.
Had VERY low expectations going into this, normally anything related to Ghost Adventures is overly cheap and flashy. The first two episodes were surprisingly subtle and paced very well. Some of the acting falls apart in episode 3, and we skipped the fourth episode because everything connected to the Manson murders is overdone.
It's not perfect by any means, but it is a nice change from quick jump scares that are the crutch of so many short horror productions. The first two episodes especially used very effective visuals and were very creepy, not just for what was shown but also what was not shown. Worth the 30-40 minute watch times at least.

I have to say I was so excited to see that Zac and Eli had teamed up. The horror king and the prince of spooky! How could it have been so bad then? Honestly, it boils down to the actors.
I'm so sorry that they weren't better, because these stories are interesting and with an element of 'real' to them (meaning they exist and you can visit them) , I'd have been far more impressed if the casting had been right.
I tried SO hard to look past it but they are telling your story guys, they ruined it for you and sadly you're held accountable because you cast them- you have the final say.
Bigger budget next time, get properly trained actors who don't sound and look like they are performing a child's nativity.
