Nayika Devi: The Warrior Queen

When I heard about Nayika Devi movie, I was sceptical about the movie quality. I went to theatre to watch this movie without any expectations.

Once the movie starts, it's just blew my mind. It doesn't seem like a regional movie, rather it creates feeling like you are watching a grandeur style of Southern cinema.

Acting : You will be amazed by the acting skill of Khushi Shah. She Carries entire movie on her shoulder. She has given her best. Chunky Pandey gives a proper justice to the role of Mohammad Ghori. Chirag Jani's role as Ajaypal is perfect. Jayesh more's performance is also very good. Overall, you will be totally satisfied with the acting skill of all important Star cast.

Songs : Aaj Karo Kesariya is a powerful patriotic song, enough to create goosebumps. This excellent song is written by Chirag Tripathi. Sung by Parthiv Gohil and Aditya Gadhavi in their inspiring voice. Shambhu Shankra is another gem song sung by Kailash Kher. Patan Na Patrani is another fantastic song sung by Shruti Pathak. Nayika Devi' s other songs are superb, and it doesn't slow down the pace of movie. Once you watch the movie, you will start humming all these songs.

Music : Excellent music is given by Parth Bharat Thakkar.

Direction : You will be totally mesmerized by the direction. Each scene is larger than life. Director Nitin G has done a lot of hard work. After few minutes you will start feeling that you are watching a Hollywood movie not a regional one. You will be surprised to know that true Historical movie can be made with this kind of perfection.

Producer : One thing I must have to say that nobody knew about Nayika Devi's glorious history before this movie. Hat's off to Producer Umesh Sharma for their courage to bring such a masterpiece. Nayika Devi is a first Gujarati Historical drama movie and We are always grateful for producers contribution.

Conclusion : Don't miss the chance to watch this movie in theatre. A patriotic movie with a perfect combination of Awesome story, song, and superb cinematography.

Only one question remains : Why such a masterpiece movie is not promoted heavily? Nayika Devi should be dubbed in Hindi and should be released nationally.

A must watch for all Indian to know true history.

Most reviews seem to be unable to differentiate between historical character and film. Just because one likes a certain character, dynasty, empire, or period of history does not automatically make any film on it marvellous.

While the film is a good attempt, it fails in several aspects.

1. Acting - While some of the characters acted well, the lead definitely needs a much wider range of emotions - she had just two expressions - an angry stern ruler and a shouting screaming warrior. In war, no one is constantly shouting without reason and there's many different ways to depict anger and aggression.

2. Fight choreography - Indian films seem to have an obsession with unnecessary slow-mo shots, unrealistic heroics (one person taking on 10 and still winning), flying through the air, ... The fights seems extremely fake and were almost unwatchable.

3. Inconsistencies and inaccuracies - a. If the Ghoris spoke in Hindi, shouldn't other kingdoms such as the Marathas and those from Kashi also talk in Hindi?

B. The 'gh' in Ghori is pronounced as 'gh' in ghum or gharib and not as that in 'ghamand'. At least the Muslim characters would be able to pronounce their own name correctly?

C. The lead couldn't correctly pronounce the 'n' in Patan or 'aapne', instead saying 'aapde', basics that should've been corrected.

D. Unnecessary vilification - Another trend in Indian films, from Padmavat to Tanhaji and Panipat is the overvillificaion of Muslim characters. No, they don't wear fur coats in the Indian heat, they don't dress only in black, they're not savages who eat like animals, they're not sex fiends. It just takes away from history!

While the film had potential, it failed for me in several departments. Some of the songs were nice. It was an overall decent attempt, but so much could have been done better.

The actor has proved yet again that she can mold into any character that comes to her in making. Supporting crew has done their job great.................

WHY THIS MOVIE GOT UNDERRATED STATUS I CAN'T UNDERSTAND.

THIS MOVIE HAD EVERYTHING IN IT LIKE EVERY EMOTION. I CONNECTED WITH SOME CHARACTERS. IT HAS A GOOD STORY, GOOD ACTING, GOOD SET DESIGN, GOOD COSTUMES AND GOOD ACTION SEQUENCES.

THERE ARE VERY FEW HISTORICAL MOVIES MADE IN GUJARATI CINEMA. SO AS AN INDUSTRY IT WAS A CHANCE TO TRY SOMETHING NEW. THEY TRIED BUT FAILED DUE TO NO AUDIENCE. WHY PEOPLE REJECTED THIS FILM I CAN'T UNDERSTAND. ITS BOX OFFICE COLLECTION WAS ALSO VERY LOW.

THIS MOVIE DESERVED BETTER. I FEEL BAD FOR ALL CAST AND CREW MEMBER WHO WORKED HARD FOR THIS MOVIE.

ANYWAYS I GIVE THIS MOVIE VERY GENEROUS 9 OT OF 10.

Movie sets and costumes are looking expensive................... Vfx is above average as compared to other Bollywood movies of the same genre.................
